More than 25 HEAT staff gave up their weekend at the start of October to take
part in a refurbishment programme for the Bryson Charitable Group. The team
spent the weekend painting the Old School House in Gortin, a centre that is
used by the charity as an invaluable resource for families suffering from
multiple deprivations to allow some respite and time away from the pressures
that are affecting them.
In addition to their efforts made to decorate the exterior of the facility,
time was also spent installing a new heating system for the 10,000 sq ft
building as well as fitting a new kitchen complete with appliances.
Michael Burke, Director of HEAT, heads up the Company's charitable arm known
as the Champion Trust. He commented: "We have adopted Bryson as our charity this
year and to celebrate their centenary, we can't think of a better way than to
help them with this project in Gortin. Doing this work will enable them to use
this facility as a respite centre for families to allow them to grow towards a
more positive future." He continued: "We are very proud of our employees who are
always willing to give up their time to do projects like this - it speaks volumes
about their dedication and community spirit."
Bryson Charitable Group Chairman John Steele added: "We are delighted by the
ongoing support provided by HEAT; they are providing both financial and practical
support to enable us to help others and we are very grateful to the company and
its enthusiastic and committed staff".
