December 2006
HEAT Ltd has become part of the UK's largest residential energy efficiency provider, eaga.
The move represents a natural progression for both businesses, each of which provides services
and solutions to residents of both private and social housing that seek to address today's issues
of energy efficiency and fuel poverty.
The acquisition brings mutual benefit to each organisation. HEAT's Belfast headquarters house
the organisation's Technical Department and IT specialists, whose work ensures that the company
remains at the forefront of its sector of the heating market; this, together with its northeast
England operations bases brings considerable strength and additional expertise to eaga's growing heating division.
With eaga as its new parent company HEAT now has a stronger platform from which the organisation
can deliver its expertise in the design, installation and maintenance of domestic heating systems
and renewable energy solutions to a wider UK client and customer base.
HEAT Managing Director Bill McCandless commented: "We are delighted with this development for
HEAT and see it as a thoroughly positive move for our clients, customers, for all our staff and
of course, new colleagues at eaga. This presents us with the perfect opportunity to bring the HEAT
brand of service delivery to a wider UK audience and we keenly anticipate what 2007 will bring to
this new venture for both parties.'
John Clough, eaga Chief Executive said: "HEAT's expertise in delivering services to the social
housing sector and its commitment to providing a very high standard of service to customers is a perfect fit with eaga and will add significant strength to our successful heating division."
