Who needs the goose that laid the golden egg? Not HEAT! Easter brought our very own gift bearing feathered friend.
Our Chick went on a mission to meet Nigel Kearney of Helping hand, the charity established in 1997 by medical staff at the hospital for sick children at the RVH. The charity aims to raise additional sources of revenue to augment what the National Health is able to provide. Research projects brought to fruition by Helping Hand have been the provision of equipment that enables the hospital to continue the development of laparoscopic micro-surgery.
It also funded the construction and equipping of an education facility for in-house training of nursing and medical staff and a training skills laboratory, where parents are taught the skills required to continue their children’s medial treatment at home. Helping Hand is presently involved in the established of a quiet room in the hospital where parents can rest and be alone in times of severe stress.
HEAT’s Easter Chick was helping installs Director, Mark Hunter, deliver a consignment of chocolate eggs to Jenne McDonald, Play Development Co-ordinator at the hospital for sick children and the devoted nursing staff too. |
