HEAT were delighted to pick up the award for People Development from Aideen McGinley, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Employment and Learning, at a lavish and entertaining gala dinner in the Ramada Hotel at Shawsbridge.
The case study which won the award focused on the Apprentice Training Programme, which also won a National Training Award last year for its innovative approach to developing our youngest members of staff.
Such is the level of recognition within the industry of our training course, that HEAT is now acting as an advisor to Energy & Utility Skills, educational bodies and other industry representatives to help shape the future of apprenticeships and ensure that as many young people as possible gain the best skills set appropriate to their chosen trade or profession.
